The turkey is not my job this year

Hi Taz,

Thanksgiving is almost here, and it's my favourite holiday. Cozy fall vibes, crisp weather, a walk through the leaves, and the best meal of the year. What's not to love?

But if you're the one holding it all together, the holiday comes with a lot of work you don't see on any calendar. Coordinating who's bringing what. Planning the menu. Hosting. Remembering the cranberries. And maybe a pile of construction-paper hand turkeys, too.

All of that lives in your head, and it adds up fast.

So here's my question for you this week: what can you hand off or say no to this weekend?

What's taking more effort than it's worth? What could someone else take on, even if they don't do it exactly the way you would?

This year, I handed the turkey to my husband. I'm still making the pumpkin pie and the sides, but the turkey is his. And wow, what a difference. It felt like someone lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, and I hadn't even realized how much space it was taking up in my head.

Now it's your turn. What's one thing you can say no to or delegate this holiday?

Hit reply and tell me. Saying it out loud makes it real, and a little harder to talk yourself out of.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Erin
